Olympus BH-2 Accessories and the RMS 160mm Standard

#1 Post by ethicalhacker » Tue Dec 01, 2020 2:15 am

Various Olympus accessories for the BH-2 exist which are designed to be mounted in between the nosepiece and the head. A few such items are listed below. (The various vertical illuminators are intentionally excluded from this list.)
  1. BH2-KPA Intermediate Tube
  2. BH2-PA Polarizing Intermediate Attachment
  3. BH2-CA Magnification Changer
  4. BH2-DO-B Dual Viewing body
  5. BH2-MDO-B Multi-viewing body
The BH-2 is, generally speaking, designed in accordance with the RMS suggestion of 160mm for finite-corrected microscopes. Do these attachments introduce errors since they increase the overall tube length, or do they compensate for this?

They have lenses to compensate for the length.

The lenses also create an extra enlargement of 1.25*
