Well I screwed things when I tried to move an annulus and it didn’t reset well . It is jammed, won’t rotate and a thin wire is showing.
Any advice about repair?

Based on your description it sounds like you might have pulled a thread. It's a problem with aluminum and fine threads. Can the annulus stay put or do you need to put it back where it came from?

Simplest possibility is that you have withdrawn a centering screw so far that it jams rotation?
If that's not it, take it apart. Reset the annulus, which may be cocked out of position and preventing rotation?

I have the same phase condenser and last week trying to improve my phase contrast images one of the annulus on my 402aa must have raised up over the wire and when turning the condenser I jammed it up. I think this is the same thing you have done to yours. The only way I could fix it was taking the whole thing apart and resetting the annulus correctly. It's not a hard job but you do require a very fine small flat tipped screwdriver as some of the screws are really small, a magnetic head screw driver even better. Take loads of photos in case you muck it up. Hope this helps.

Thanks.
I was hoping someone had done this.
I ordered a machinist set of screwdrivers.
