Nikon -S and -Phot stages

Here a Nikon-S is offered for sale, of which the most interesting feature is its rotating stage. Do the labo-/optiphots have the same dovetails to attach te stage as have the S-series microscopes, so it might make sense to go after that offer to use its stage on my optiphot?

Pretty sure the compatibility is only between Labophot and Optiphot. Perhaps with significant machining effort you could get the old stage to fit and still have the condenser top sit high enough toward the stage top?

The S series did have one other (besides the polarization one you're looking at) fairly unique stage - a gliding one for chasing things like protists around.

Thanks. I haven't seen good offers on eBay, but then, I haven't searched systematically. Today they cost several hundred plux shipping and tax.
