turret dust caps

#1 Post by henryr » Thu Nov 05, 2015 8:39 pm

I've searched many websites that sell microscopes and accessories and have yet to find one that sells RMS threaded turret dust caps. I have seen the aluminum ones on ebay, all sold by someone in spain, but thought that there must be a place to buy inexpensive plastic ones in the US. Does anyone know where they may be available?

Thanks,
henryr

Ok, I'll trade you a pair of 20mm that sure don't fit an E600, even tho they are engraved NIKON, for
a pair of 25mm's. If you think not I will pay whatever you want, surely less than the $9 I paid for these.
I was really frantic today. Sat down to assemble the stage and the set screw was gone. Yesterday I tossed
a whole big box of cardboard and plastic, and I was sure the part must be gone. But today I found it in an anti-static
bag in the regular trash can.

I'm sorry I don't have any caps for the E600. Maybe I can find some at a reasonable $$. I have boxes of the RMS size as well as the objective canisters. I keep all my Nikon spaces filled with objectives.

Since I balk at using oil, there should not be any more obj's I could use to
fill those holes. Maybe a pair of junkers, but they would just be confusing.

Duck tape on a Nikon, perish the thought! The Ebay guy that sold me the
wrong size is looking to see if he has any, but his time is limited as he is babysitting
a grandchild.

They are available on eBay, new from China. $1.29 each. First one shipped is $2.99, and each additional ships for $.50.

Thank you Carl, I'll check it out. May only need one as I'm contemplating a 4X objective, maybe
my supplier will also have a 2X. Sure an expensive way to keep dust out!
