Zeiss Semi-Plan Objectives

#1 Post by 75RR » Fri Jan 23, 2015 11:27 am

To whom it may concern: Zeiss Semi-Plan Objectives do exist.

Picked up these Zeiss F designated objectives a little while ago.
Could not find any info on them anywhere until now. Assumed they were just Achromats.

They are not however common or garden Achromats but Zeiss Semi-Plan Achromat Objectives or at least their equivalent.
They are part of the last Zeiss finite (160) series. All subsequent Zeiss objectives are infinite.

I would also be interested to know, how they perform, can you provide some images?

I am happy with them. I do however lack the experience for a proper evaluation.

When I said " a little while ago" I meant a couple of months.
Any of my photos since then where I mention a 10x and a 40x, that would be one of the "F" designations.
I use the 2,5x to navigate around the cover slip. Have not used the 100x
My 16x is a Plan and my 25x is a Neofluar.

Great! And judging from your excellent photos (admittedly using eyes that are both not-so-good and old), they are excellent.

J'ai lu de bons commentaires sur Amscope. Mais je n'ai jamais lu de commentaires sur Siedentopf. Si vous avez un Siedentopf, en êtes-vous satisfait?????

Thanks! I have seen these objectives on several scopes listed on E-Bay and wondered about them.
