I have an Olympus BH-2 on which the sliding voltage control is not working.
When the power is switched on and with the sliding control set to it's minimum, the power lights show two of the twelve led's lit up. But sliding the control forward fails to increase the voltage and light intensity.
As i am new to microscopes, and not that great where technical problems are concerned, i would greatly appreciate any advice and infomation as to what might be the cause of my problem and how to rectify it.
Many Thanks, in anticipation.

Re: Olympus BH-2 Voltage Control
The first thing I would look at is the condition of the 'slider' and it's contacts.
Chances are that it's simply a little dirty and needs a clean.

Re: Olympus BH-2 Voltage Control
If cleaning the slider does not work then it is the circuit board with the LEDs. At one time there was a secondary source, but I've not seen anything for some time. I now convert the BH2 to LED using a handy kit I have.

Re: Olympus BH-2 Voltage Control
Many thanks John B. Got myself a can of contact cleaner and did as you suggested, now working brilliantly. Cleaned everything else while i had it apart and now with a bit of luck no further problems.
Again many thanks.

That's great - it'd probably just been standing a while - have fun!
