Hi Radazz,
Which illumination has the SZ-40 got?
I have just acquired a much older Olympus, the VMZ, had it serviced and now considering upgrade of the original 6V halogen, which is not too bright for me.

Hi, 46,
I’ve got an led ring light (installed after this picture), and a snake necked desk lamp that work well.
I got the original top light, but don’t have a transformer for it. Illuminator socket is empty, and I would need to find a translucent stage plate to use one.

P.S. added a sub-stage LED illuminator and ordered a frosted glass insert.

Congratulations Radazz, very very nice equipment! Wow. Your inverted has a FOV of 22.
It seems that HMC is more common in USA. Guess you will never find such in Germany.

Really? I would have thought Zeiss would have covered that. Or is HMC second string?

I just assume that Zeiss prefers to sell their low cost variant "PlasDic" instead of HMC. It is probabely because of license or patent cost :-)
