Olympus condenser for inverted microscopes (e.g. IX50)

#1 Post by shahriar222 » Wed Oct 27, 2021 10:59 am

Dear All
I am new to the forum and am desperately looking for help:

I have an Olympus IX50 with an IX-ULWCD condenser. I would like to do DIC microscopy. What I don't get is why Olympus says DIC with IX50 (or IX70) is only possible with IX-LWUCD condensers but not with IX-ULWCD. I have not yet been able to find that info.

Any ideas would be highly appreciated.

Thank you
Shahriar

For info on IX, you might also try the Facebook Olympus group.

But the working distance/NA is rather different. So the angle of the divergent Nomarski condenser prism light would be different and probably not match the other side. Have you tried it?
