Hi,
I found this Rotifer some time ago. I recall thinking that there was something strange about it, because it seemed to have debris attached to it. Having a closer look to the video, I realize that there is something else going on. There seems to be a two segment shell, because when the Rotifer stretches or shrinks, the shell does not follow the movement. I think I've heard of some Rotifers living in a shell, but when this Rotifer shows its foot there is nothing covering it.
Do you notice the same thing? Any ideas?
TIA,
Javier.
What is going on with this Rotifer?

Nice video!
This is Rotaria tardígrada, in this rotifer the cuticle is usually covered with debris. It is a Bdelloid rotifer without lorica.
