Thanks Kurt.

It always helps when they are nice and big like that one.

Some nice Epithemia in the mix too.

Thanks ISSS.

It is pretty straightforward darkfield microscopy and imaging.

The Diatom part I have documented with lots of help from folks here in the "Doing Diatoms" thread.

You can certainly get there! Happy to help if I can.

If only it were that easy! I would be very happy if I could get images 1/10th as good :) But that is me. I bet ScopysScopegScope will, if he spends the requisite time and effort.

Gekko - we can get you there. I am the rough equivalent of a monkey with microscope, and I have seen you post many fine images so there is no doubt that you can certainly do diatoms!

I'm def going to get more involved with the photography. I just started the process of exchanging the scope I just got for a trinoc model with camera. Now that I've gotten a dose of the reality that is my slide making skills I think the darkfield kit can wait for me to save up for it after I get more of the basics down. There were also some little things about the scope that I was ready to fix myself but I won't turn down the opportunity for an exchange. I'm also getting really sick of trying to sketch what I see, I'm hoping it works out. If the camera is crap at least I'll have a trinoc ready for when I get a really good set up. Anyone have any experience with the Amscope MU1000 by any chance?
