#1 Post by 75RR » Fri Sep 04, 2020 8:57 am

.
Zeiss Planapo 63x/1.4, DIC, 110µm length, stitched and stacked in Photoshop, Marine sample, Alboran Sea.

Going with Nitzschia graeffii for now, though that is a provisional ID

Thanks Hobbyst46

Hopefully it will be a better fit than my last tentative ID, though I still need to find a description and location to confirm.

Very nice photograph 75RR. Did you prepare it in a certain way before photographing, or is this a, photograph of the specimen as found in the water sample you took from the Alboran see?

Thanks janvangastel

As found basically. It is a Wet mount. I always try to make sure there is nothing large on the slide so that I can get the cover slip nice and flat, I also wick the water out (remove) before using the 63x
