Two ciliates locked together. Romance? Asexual reproduction? What?

You've recorded a ciliate in the final phase of cell division (binary fission). So, yup...asexual reproduction. :) Strictly speaking, all ciliate reproduction is asexual (ciliates do have sex, but reproduction is a separate process).
