The level of detail is amazing, how do you achieve such of nice resolution and contrast?

Larvae are big which makes them easy to image. The sony 6300 probably has decent sensor though. This is also a stacked photoshop image.

Yeah yeah ok now there is something I would have a tough time producing with wood.
