I apologize ahead of time for the quality, happened very fast, and did not have time for a proper setup.

Not quite sure what's going-on in the image, but I like the image very much!

when moments like these come along, grab what you can to capture them.
well done.
well done.

Re: Congratulations Mrs. Sporangium its a Zoospore
the image happened to capture the Tupperware lid acting as the blue filter below the condenser with Köhler illumination, hence the letters "A Microwave" written.
The real treat is the video that shows a zoospore activating its cilia for the first time.

A great catch! Really nice work. Have you identified the filamentous algae?
Re: Congratulations Mrs. Sporangium its a Zoospore
I was able to find one similar video with a different method, where multiple zoospores are shot out like a cannon but never the whole content being one giant zoospore. After some time they develop a foot and take hold onto whatever they canjanvangastel wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 2:18 pmWhat a very interesting video. I never saw this before.

I have not unfortunately, I can tell you that it seemed like a synchronized event happening within a 10 min span right before sunrise, I'm going to see if I can obtain more footage this AM.Bruce Taylor wrote: ↑Sun Dec 13, 2020 2:22 pmA great catch!
