What might these be?

Another 380T darkfield This is using a 40x objective and the image is cropped. It was a wet slide I made last week so it's well dried now
I was wondering what the '4-pronged' algae are? I see a lot of them in my pond culture but have no idea what they are. They vary in size/number of segments.

By the way, Does anyone know of any sources/texts that will help me identify algae and/or protists found in UK fresh water?

Thanks! There's a similar idea here at the Natural History Museum. Lots of people seem to start these databases but don't seem to get very far. Maybe there will be more actual texts around when the pandemic is over and Universities get back to normal. I'll have to wait and see...
