3 image stack. I can definitely notice warping around the edges of the cell. I was using an A 40x objective. Will this go away if I use a plan objective? Is this spherical aberration?

Probably not. The subject protist itself may be thicker in the center and not flat. Your image looks great as it is.

I agree with zzffnn: excellent image. I cannot see how you can improve on it. You can get more of it in focus by increasing the depth of your focus stack, yet I think the slight blur that you see now actually gives a better idea of the shape. My guess is (again I may well be wrong) that this is Arcella though.
