What magnification and what is your technique for top lighting. Did you stack multiple images for the DOF? JimT

thanks for comment.
It`s made under stereo-microscope (chineses one :( but of good quality), the magnification is 20x.
It is a 15 images stack done with "Zerene stacker", for lightning I use 4pcs. of "IKEA lamps"

Nice image + good illumination
Have you considered placing a nettle sting under your compound microscope.
Worth a try I think.

In reply to 75RR's suggestion,I have posted my first image :D (thanks to gekko)

It is of a nettle plants stinging hair.The tiny ball at the end of the spike breaks off when touched,leaving a sharp point,rather like a hypodermic needle.
The resevoir of irritant is at the other end.
(The image is a Helcon focus stack)

I also used one of my Arthur Strange VAC2 patch stop in the filter carrier

It's an image taken from a GJM slide I made six years ago - It's lasting well !
