Thanks Wes.

Yes, it is.

They are strews so something new tends to pop up unexpectedly when you thought you had seen everything. So slowly working my way through them.

Very nice - from the top three, I would prefer the oblique.

Impressive!

Are you using a different slide to get the girdle view?

Thanks Javier, yes it is the same slide.

I think strew slides by their very nature seem to have a thicker mountant.

Many times a compromise on viewpoint vs resolution

Yet another subject from the Brasilien slide. This one looks like it might be a colonial Dinoflagellate.

Second image shows a shorter top stack to highlight what looks like the cingulum that is not very apparent in the full stack of the first image needed to show the (to me) unusual octagonal base.

Width is 20µm

Feel free to hazard an ID.

I'm pretty sure you must be the patron saint of the Zeiss 63x PlanApo 1.4na.

It's a wonderful objective - but you always seem to get the best out of it.

Many thanks KurtM and PeteM, very kind!

For those not familiar with my favorite objective - here it is:

BTW, never place an objective on its nose. If you want to photograph it, place it on its base and then flip the photo.
