Vorticella

#1 Post by JimT » Sun Aug 09, 2015 7:25 pm

Managed to get three in "almost" the same plane. First one is with DIY DIC filter. Second one is dark field. Both with Canon 60D and 10x obj.

I fully agree with einman. Excellent, beautiful images. The clarity and delicacy of the Vorticella I think point to the quality of the optics and the excellence of the microscopist.

Very nice images. That DIY DIC looks interesting.
What were the camera settings on the Darkfield image?
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

Thanks all. Camera settings were 1/8 sec (hence the blurred cilia) and ISO 1000.

Really good work. It's nice to see super imaging without excessive use of digital manipulation.

Fabulous shots, I have fond memories of seeing Vorticella for the first time years ago.
