Yesterday I found a 22mm long leaf skeleton, which fit nearly perfectly under a coverslip. So, I put in a darkfield filter and took a bunch of photos (98 to be exact) at 40x magnification. I tried to automatically Photo-merge using photoshop, but It didn't work properly - only 6 or so images actually joined up (I think because of the vignette due to darkfield). So I got to work connecting them manually, and 5 hours later I produced this really cool image! This was my first time manually stitching this many photos together, and although there may be one or two parts that aren't perfect, I feel very happy with it! The bubbles were caused by water rushing into the dry leaf, which at first I thought would look bad in the final image but ended up looking like little pearls.
Fun fact: the final image is 1/20th of a Gigabyte - and that's after downscaling to 82% of it's original quality!
