Polarized Pine Root c.s Stack

Equipment:
Olympus BH2-BHS using the SPlan Apo 10x and 2.5x NFK Eyepiece
Camera: Canon Rebel XS
5 Image Stack using Photoshop
Enjoy and please share any thoughts for improvement.

Pretty cool. Never used polarized light on plant material.

Interesting! There appears to be very distinct birefringence in those tubules!

Are you using plastic polaroid film for this? I'm curious how it looks if you simply sandwich the slide between two crossed pieces. I've gotten some surprisingly sharp results doing that at lower magnifications but haven't tried on an SPlanApo.

I've used 3D cinema glasses with the analyzer being placed onto a little recess inside the dovetail behind the rear glass element of the objective.

Though this placement of the cross polar does reduce the sharpness by a bit, I may place the analyzer directly on the specimen for my next attempt.
