Shelled Amoeba - Arcellinida

#1 Post by Bschnitzer » Sat May 28, 2022 10:30 pm

Fascinated by the “blisters” that form on the pseudopodia. Too much DOF to get everything in focus.

Thank you, Hans, for the species ID. I just recently took up microscopy with soooo much to learn. My apologies for the vid file difficulty. That file has been problematic from the start. I’ll try to repost.

Hello Bob,
problem with the video is the filetype MTS which the browser cannot render. I downloaded the videofile and was able to open it with Windows' Media Player, very lively and interesting video.

A new 20MP usb3 camera should be arriving this week and the Nex will be shifted to the stereo scope. I think the file format on the new cam will pose fewer problems as the camera is designed for microscopes.

As a noob, I might post something I find interesting, but turns out to be old news. Bear with me as I get my sea legs back after a 60 year hiatus from microbe hunting.
