A tribute to Neil Peart

#1 Post by shawngibson » Tue Oct 13, 2015 10:27 pm

Took probably 700 photos today, of probably 15 specimens. I focused on this one because it reminded me of RUSH, Neil Peart's Natural Science lyrics:

Original capture, 17 Helicon images. I think I sharpened it too much in Photoshop in the above photo...

I spent the latter half of my early years in the same town as Neil Peart, have played drums and percussion since 1964 and I even know the Russian guy that designed a virtual drum kit for him. Although I would agree that Neil is a fine drummer, I never really liked Rush's overblown chordband style and grade 6 philosophy, lyrics. However the complete disenchantment with them as people, came when I heard that they used to throw sheets of paper on the stage , so the Runaways, who were opening for them, would slip and almost dislocate limbs, and they sabotaged their equipment as well. Ha Ha Ha, those guys are so funny and creative too.
Maybe your image is more representative of Neil Peart's brainstem because I'm pretty sure that is all he has to work with.

That's why I love this forum. If you were on a yahoo forum this would turn into a firestorm. You should be able to express yourself/opinions without any one getting annoyed. Not once have I seen anyone get annoyed despite differences in views etc.
