Lily pollen

#1 Post by hkv » Thu Jan 25, 2024 12:40 am

Lily flower pollen. A masterpiece of nature’s artistry in every detail. Almost like the Faberge eggs of nature. Size is around 130 μm x 45 μm (= 0.13 mm x 0.045 mm). Dried in air, gold sputtered and imaged in a SEM. Colorized in Photoshop.

Those are gorgeous! They make me want to learn how to colorize images.

Thanks. Colorising is really easy. I can tech you how to do it in 10 minutes. Although easy to understand how its done, it is a tedious process with the brush tool to get all the details the way you like it. So far I have not encountered any automatic tools (AI?) that can do the job. However, I assume AI will develop over time and make it a push-button exercise.

Amazing images and great false coloring! Do you own a SEM or do you use one at your workplace?
