#1 Post by EricB » Tue Apr 09, 2024 2:14 pm

First Post. Working with abandoned & subsequently refurbished LabPaq Compound Microscope rescued from Hospital Junk Closet where my Daughter was going to Nursing School.

Working on a setting up YouTube Chanel for Videos - Fingers Crossed.

In Meantime - here's Klaus the Water Bear staring at a Stream in the Moss Swamp...

Welcome, eric b., and congrats on your scope salvage..and 'bear encounter'.

That second image captures an interesting illumination contrast method for your meiofauna ursine 'bear'! Please share: what scope objective+eyepiece combination used? What method of illumination of the slide?

BTW..do you enjoy maple syrup? happy springtime'24, charlie g

Thanx Charlie - one of my main Goals is not to just take a Decent Lab Pic, but to create something aesthetically pleasing as well, while at the same time endowing the "Specimen" with the sense of individual Character and Personality it deserves. (I know, I know - I'm cursed with a left and right side of Brain, both of which are constantly vying for Dominance)

Objective was the 4x the LabPaq Scope came with, and the Eyepiece was a generic Amazon 10x. (Am upgrading Lenses as I can afford to). Pics are with a mounted Cell Phone Camera, which I maybe blew up a little, though if I did it wasn't much.

Didn't use a Slide - set up was moistened Moss in a 60mm Petri Dish - overhead lighting was a basic AmScope Dual Gooseneck. Lot of playing around to get things right.

Hope to post some YouTubes soon - hope they are pleasing...

Eric

Ps - Who doesn't like Maple Syrup...?

Thanx for posting this encounter, eric b. .

If your stand is: 160 tube length ( a finite DIN stand)..is: "160/ o.17 "engraved on the objectives you now have?

Origin Objective only has 4x/.10 on it.

Replaced with AmScope PLAN 4/0.10, 160/.017, which works well.

I have a large selection of : finite 160 tube length/ 0.17 objectives for low cost..extremely low cost sale, Eric.

I am also trying to clear out ..extremely low cost Oympus C inverted microscope.

Do tell what microscope ( finite/160 TL, 0.17 coverslip) objectives you might want to enhance your microscope. charlie g.
