Cross section of a chrysanthemum stem - I had to look up how to spell it with methylene blue stain and the 4x, 10x, 20x, and 40x obj's.
First image shows layers from the epidermis to the pith. 10X and 20x views give added detail of the two cortex layers, sclerenchyma, phloem, and xylem.
40X objective is concentrated on the green cortex cells.

Super set these, lovely banding of the tissue types - a real treat for the eye! They're good enough to start a set of comparative tissue studies I'd say, you can have a set of images without worrying about permanent mounts. You could remove the chlorophy with OH if you wanted to stain the photosynthetic tissue too...
