Copepod Study

#1 Post by rnabholz » Tue Feb 23, 2016 2:08 am

Got another one. Here are a few different looks in Darkfield, Oblique and van Egmond masked.

All are stacks of between 15 to 24 files

AO One Ten, 10x Plan Achro, lighting techniques done with masks. Afocal using a Nexus 6 Phone.

3 excellent images. Can't decide which I prefer.

By the way it seems as if the light is a little brighter in the center of your field of view, or is it my imagination?
The AO One Ten has Köhler doesn't it?
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

Thank you 75.

I think what you are seeing is me being a bit over aggressive with the condenser diaphragm. I typically adjust it a bit on darkfield and left it unadjusted when I did the oblique shots. My recollection was it was not that pronounced at the eyepiece. Operator error.....

All are great, yes. I prefer the second because of the clarity of the appendage things at the tail end and the one off the head, I guess.

Beautiful photos.
Fantastic framing.
I'll stick my neck out and go for the blue filter as the nicest but its a razor sharp distinction as they all so very good.
