Continuing stitching efforts
Continuing stitching efforts
Here is my latest image from the stitching software I am testing. The specimen is a ginkgo archegone and is 1cm X 1cm. The original image size is 33 MB and was created by scanning the slide using a 20X objective. Editing was done using photoshop elements 16 and all I did was clean up the background. Only the area of the specimen was scanned so there were irregular margins that were filled and the color was adjusted to be of one value. There was no cropping of the original image.
When the original file is projected a screen image of 6' X 6' is possible and digital zooming allows for a 'closer' look. Pixellation did not be come a problem until several crops had been applied, but I don't have any exact data in this regard.
Overall I was satisfied with the results of the test.
At the moment this software is not available and since it is directed at the professional market will probably not be of interest to the hobbyist ($$$).

Re: Continuing stitching efforts
Nice image.
I'm guessing you have a lot of really nice information in there.
I'm a big fan of ginko biloba, so I really approve of your subject.

Looks pretty good to me also - has a 'high-res' promise to it....
Any chance of a couple of crops old chap - a nice image.

Here is a small section. This is the best representation of the various aspects of the specimen. A larger section would show more of the same.

Re: Continuing stitching efforts
Thanks Lorez, looks very detailed, maybe 'Light-green' stain and a Haematoxylin nuclear contrast? Maybe Ehrlicht's even? Very nice. Looks like the stitching is going well.

Re: Continuing stitching efforts
Thanks billben74 and John B,
I wish I could discuss this specimen greater detail. Unfortunately my botany days are far behind me and I have little experience with the various stains.
I was looking for a 'busy' specimen that would challenge the software and I think in this regard I was successful.
My next specimen will be a pathology specimen.

Hi, I know the subject is Stitching but the subject of the photo ginkgo archegone & ginkgo biloba got my attention.
Did a search, found tons of information, Though still not sure what you have a photo of. More details please.

Re: Continuing stitching efforts
I wish I could offer more information, but I have none.
A discussion of the ginkgo should be under a different heading so the continuity of the stitching procedure is not lost.
