10x Achromat Objective, Spiral 40µm width, Darkfield, Oblique(Offset Darkfield Stop), Brightfield, 14,12 and 9 image stacks.
After observing everyone's xylems, I thought I would have a go as well.
Used surgical blade on a bit of yesterday's onion (rescued from the bin)

I guess the original inspiration was by justcurious :) Maybe we should create a "xylem" thread...

Were these taken with your "new" Zeiss? Do you have a light source for it now? No matter which microscope, those are great images, but I'm curious.

With the Standard Junior. Used my Zeiss F 10x/0,25 Achromat. Paid more attention to the contrast as you suggested.

Still waiting for a light source for the Standard RA. Everything slows down during the Xmas holidays here.
The idea is to get the 12v 60w illuminator working, (I need to get someone to put together a 12v AC transformer with a dimmer for me) and also get a Led version sorted out. Awaiting two Cree XM-L2 from China and a viable technical circuit diagram to start.

Good luck on getting your light source working soon. I know it is frustrating. But you are getting superb images as it is, and they can only get better.

Thanks gekko.
Looking forward to Köhler, Phase and getting back my binocular (no more sharing with the camera)!
