Request for Photos

Hello All,

I have been admiring many of your photos from afar for a while. I work at a small environmental non-profit in Maine, USA that studies and protects about 40 lakes and ponds.

I'm looking for pictures of algae for our newsletter. Does anyone have any images they are willing to let me publish for free? I will of course give photo credit in whatever form you would like. The newsletter goes out to our membership (about 2,000 people) and is distributed locally. I myself am an amateur algae taxonomist and photographer, but many of my photos are of preserved samples and are not even close to as good as many of yours.

Any photos would be welcome, but I am particularly looking for things like desmids, pediastrum, crucigenia, live diatoms, and anything colorful or with nice detail ("pretty" algae!)

My company's website is: www.mainelakes.org.

Thanks in advance!

Maybe down the road after we get to know more about you, your organization, and what our copyright protections would be.

TBD.

The organization is completely legit and does good work.....not particularly involved in exploiting the natural world for fame and fortune, as so many are. I would be glad to help out, Amanda.

Amanda,

Check out wikipedia (they have creative commons pictures that you can use if you give credit) and/or commons.wikimedia.org for a more complete list.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pediastrum
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diatom
etc.
