Botanical sections
Botanical sections
Dear all,
I want to start today posting stem sections, and I want to add again and again sections I`ll do the next time.
Everyone of you is invited to upload his botanical sections in this thread, so we will have a large pool of images showing different plants.

Re: Botanical sections
Fantastic images, Manfred
Nice idea.
Here are some of my daffodyl ovaries. This was my first section, so stitched the lot.
Taken at x100, NA 0.2. 10micron section stained with saffarinin and fast green.
Some mitotic figures. x40, NA 0.65

Re: Botanical sections
Manfred, what are the plants? Second image is very good-a very thin section. What technique do you use?

Re: Botanical sections
Jim,
first picture is showing section of "Brennessel" (Stinging nettel), second one needle of pine.
They are cutted with razor blades and selfmade microtom, stained with Wacker FCA

Re: Botanical sections
That is a very good section of something as small as a pine needle.
Re: Botanical sections
Manfred, excellent sections and very beautiful images (sharpness, detail and color), as usual.
billben, nice images but I think the contrast is rather low (I, for one, would prefer higher contrast).
