Found this one in the sample jar. Several moving really fast and one dead. This is the dead one sitting still.
20X, DIC, Stack of 23. Difficult subject.

I took a second stack managed to capture some more details. I am now pretty certain I have an ID.

Peridinium. An armored dinoflagellates.

Very nice image, one can see the armour now.
How fast were they, do you have a video?

I did not record a video, but I found one on youtube showing the exact same behavior as mine.

Wonderful image. Very difficult to catch when the are running around, so we are lucky you found a still one for us.
