Celery Stalk
Celery Stalk
TS of a celery stalk with the 10X obj. showing the vascular bundle cleared with lactic acid and stained with red dye. Thanks to Seb28 for the tip about clearing. It actually was clearer before I stained it

I like the sense of depth. Are those remaining droplets, down in there?

Afraid so and thanks. Are those remaining droplets, down in there?
Re: Celery Stalk
Agree with Apo, the cell's walls and depth really show well.
Very nice indeed Jim.

I'll join in too. I like the sense of depth, it brings the image to life somehow.

The droplets make it more lifelike and all the varied reflections keep the eye inquisitive down there.JimT wrote:Afraid so and thanks. Are those remaining droplets, down in there?

Re: Celery Stalk
Hello sir!
Personally, I am a huge fan of your histology of celery stalks.
I'm actually a student in sixth form/college that was struggling with my microscope works! and your images provide perfect help!
thank you for your hard work!
also, I do have a request... sorry! if it's not too much to ask can you please provide an image of a longitudinal cut of celery under the microscope? if it's not too much to ask!
thank you again!

Ditto the above, the section looks beautifully fresh and 'alive' - how on Earth have I only just seen this one?
Your usual beautifully-done sections Jim - time for some more my friend? - you know you must!

I have to wonder if everyone is actually aware that they are responding to a post from Thu Dec 29, 2016 3:04 pm that has been bumped by first time member MicroLover?

It's never too late to view a good post in my book! I for one had completely missed this one back then. Just shows though what a newbie may find if he/she has the time to take a look back over some earlier posts - there's a huge resource in this fine forum to be enjoyed.

I cannot but agree with your sentiment. It's never too late to view a good post in my book!
However, my comment was directed at the fact that forum members did not find it incongruousness that the first post of a new member would be to bump a two year old post.
Similarly - asking OP to "please provide an image of a longitudinal cut of celery under the microscope?" 2 years after the event is at best unreasonable.

I see what you mean 75' - especially the request which is a little surprising.

Re: Celery Stalk
Sorry if anything seemed wrong. I couldn’t find the date for when it was published. But I do really like the celery stalk images. They are spectacular!
