Nice images Rod!
I believe the first one is a Terpsinoë americana.

Re: Oblique Diatoms
Very nice detail.
The ability of Oblique to provide its own contrast and so allow one to use 'most' of the NA of an objective
by opening the diaphragm up is a big plus.

Darn it, I knew that! Just couldn't pull it up out of my increasingly unreliable memory banks.
Thanks for the correction, and sorry to all for the misidentification.
Re: Oblique Diatoms
Thanks 75. I am still surprised at how much can be resolved using this method. Very fun to play with.75RR wrote:Very nice detail.

Re: Oblique Diatoms
Thanks Kurt. I do hope that folks enjoy them as much as I enjoy capturing and sharing them. It is always nice to get any response that confirms that is happening. Thank you.KurtM wrote:Don't know what to say that I haven't already. They're lovely images, and I'll never get tired of seeing them!

Re: Oblique Diatoms
I like your oblique images as much as your darkfield ones! Oblique provides a perspective not given by darkfield.

Re: Oblique Diatoms
Well now I know that I have arrived as I know how much you like Darkfield. I agree about the different perspective. I get a much better sense of the construction and contours with Oblique than any other method I have available.zzffnn wrote:I like your oblique images as much as your darkfield ones! Thanks zz.

Only repeating others... but I love the depth you are getting here.
