Banana worm video

#1 Post by JenThePlantGeek » Fri Apr 21, 2017 3:48 pm

These little things are banana worms. The culture they are growing in is a mix of oatmeal, water, and yeast. I use them to feed my larger aquarium critters. Please pardon the fact that I steer a microscope like I'm over the legal limit - clearly need some more practice!

If you watch towards the end, you can see one that has eggs clearly visible.

Is this the kind of content y'all enjoy seeing?

Jen,
Great video always something new to learn. What critters do you feed then to?

I feed them to Neocardinia sp. shrimp and my crawdad, and I'm hoping soon that my Tanichthys albonubes (white cloud tetra, long-finned variety) will breed for me and I'll use these and a first-food for them after they graduate from infusoria (greenwater). Banana worms make a good substitute for baby brine shrimp and can be used for any fish fry.
