Very interesting and colorful photos! Did the vorticella retract when you took the photo? I'm curious if any camera shake from the camera may have frightened them.

Fantastic image of an Euglena (great detail) - do like them.
Nice Vorticella (colony) group photo. Like how one can see so many different poses at once.

Wonderful photos... The Vorticella reminds me somewhat of tulips...

Wow - I love the second image. The colours are superb, and yes they do remind one of Tulips! Very nice, detailed pictures, thanks for the post. :)

Sorry Pat, only saw your comment now - with that many of them together there was a continuous contracting action going on - so hard to say if the camera had any effect.
I took a video a while ago where 3 were stuck together and they triggered themselves to contract in unison:
