Abstract - Droplets or holes?

#1 Post by hkv » Tue May 16, 2017 6:33 pm

What do you see? I see droplets 7 out of 10 times, but all of a sudden holes appear.

10X, DIC. Stack of 4.

Rotating the second image (hope you do not mind) by 180˚ makes (for me at least) definite bubbles.

These are "fun fotos". I like the foto with the smallest droplets/holes. I can almost feel my brain shifting as the perception of the image changes. I can look at it for a moment and with a blink change the orientation... It's the most fun I've had in weeks.

I enjoyed the abstract differences of these photos... It is possible to view them as raised objects or holes.. Thanks for sharing...

A 90º rotation also gives the "bubble" look...

Fun pictures. The brain expects light from above hence the shadows in the upper edges suggests holes. Once one rotates the image (left, right, or flipped) they become bubbles.

Thanks for posting.

Very cool!
I mostly see bubbles. But when I view the first two photos on my phone and tilt my phone's bottom right towards my nose, I see holes.

Nice capture.
Its fun trying to will the holes and droplets back and forth, although I find I can't.
It flips sometimes when my eyes saccade but I'm not in control of the process.
