Re: Filamentous algae
Love the effects of epifluorescence.
autofluo
fluo UV
fluo B
fluo UV + B
First one is the effect I am more familiar with.
How many flou's are there?

Thank you 75RR
There are four fluorescent exitations: UV-ultra violet,V-fiolet,B-blue and G-green.You can also marge them together.

Re: Filamentous algae
Wonderful images! By autofluo I guess you mean autofluorescence (before you add the fluo stain); is that right? What excitation wavelength do you use with autofluo?
Re: Filamentous algae
Thank you Gekko.
Yes,you're right.
Autofluorescence is the natural emission of light, you can get the autofluorescence on each set(UV,V,B,G) it all depends on the specimen you are watching, for example chlorophyll emit autoflurescence on B(blue excitation) filter set.
Mostly for autofluorescence i use:
UV:
-excitation filter 365/50nm
-dichroic mirror 395nm
-emission filter 445/50nm
B:
-excitation filter 546/10nm
-dichroic mirror 565nm
-emission filter 605/55

Re: Filamentous algae
Great images! I need to start using my fluorescence equipment as well. Never used it yet...
