Basil Stem

#1 Post by JimT » Sat Aug 26, 2017 7:56 pm

T S of a basil stem. It was a little woody so section was a little thick. Two views both with red food dye.

First one with the 10X showing the stem from epidermis to xylem cells. Second one with the 40X showing the detail of the phloem fibers.

Hi Jim - lovely images my friend. Particularly like the details in the fibers - really 3D-like. :D :D

Interesting to see edible-herb comparisons.

Thanks Jim. :)

Great sections and the results from the food colouring are great.
