Hello all,
Tachyporus hypnorum is a rove bettle. This one eats leaf litter etc. Some rove bettles hang out in ant colonies as parasites although parhaps only as freeloaders.
I got it identification via

Its about 2mm taken with x4, na 0.13 flourite. Stack and stitch. Still got a few DMAP artifacts if you look hard.
Its on some double sided sticky tape.

billben74 ... Nice image ... Excuse my novice ignorance but what are DMAP artefacts exactly... are they images that reoccur in slightly different places because of the multiple imaging stacking process??

No the apologies are all mine. I'm making silly assumptions about knowledge of a specific piece of software.
I use zerine stacker to do my stacking. It gives a choice of 2 different algorithms. One is called DMAP. I used DMAP this time.
Both algorithms can give unwanted artifacts. Sometimes I clean these imperfections up. This can sometimes be done in zernine stacker which allows you to airbrush in portions of the original stack images (or an image made using the other algorithm, PMAX).
Sometimes I clean up in GIMP (open source photoshop).
I was lazy this time.
As I mentioned if you look hard (blow up the image a bit) it has artifacts from the DMAP algorithm.
