Green algae - Eudorina & Pandorina

#1 Post by hkv » Fri Sep 22, 2017 10:33 pm

Browsing through my latest samples revealed these beauties. I believe they are Eudorina and Pandorina. Full image and two cropped versions. UplanSAPO 60X WI. Stack of plenty. Stacked in three parts. On part covering the edge of the mucilage, one stack for the center (focused cells) and the third covering the blurred cells.

Well, yes it becomes very complicated to talk about stack depth when you are stacking in batches and then you retouch with all those substacks as sources. I think the total number of frames captured was 52, but I did not use all frames in the stacking process. I used Helicon focus for the stacking and Zerene for retouching.

Yes, the 60x wi is a keeper. Very useful and produces great images. I love that mess-less procedure using water instead of oil. Also, I can focus deep under the cover slip as it has 0.28 mm working distance.

Those are beautiful images.

That is a very big plus!
