Tiny unknown insect
A very, very tiny unknown insect (2 mm long by O.45 mm across) ... not overly happy with it due to lack of contrast etc but getting more comfortable with my stacking technique just need to get some better objectives and better lighting technique. This little chap took 92 images stacked at 5 microns apart i.e., 5 micron shifts of the stage. I used the Carl Zeiss Jenna X11 NA 0.30 190 tube length on my Nikon s series 160 tube length instrument.

Re: Tiny unknown insect
Here in Missouri We have a tiny biting insect called 'no-see-ums'
They leave a nasty itchy bite.
I thought this was a local name, but the bottle of insect repellent has them on the list of insects it repels.
Wonder if this is something similar?
