Egg of Artemia Salina
Egg of Artemia Salina
I revisited some old stacks which I have failed to nail. In this stack I found that the some of the single images were good by themselves, so I selected this one which had halo rings in the background. It is an egg from Artemia Salina in DIC.

Pleasing
Re: Egg of Artemia Salina
This egg may be too opaque to image well in this DIC magnification. Plain BF or pol in epi or transmitted light may work better.

Yes, you are right. It was a failure (DIC wise). I should have tried fluorescence which may have given interesting results.zzffnn wrote:This egg may be too opaque to image well in this DIC magnification. Plain BF or pol in epi or transmitted light may work better.

Re: Egg of Artemia Salina
No, not a failure at all. It is an interesting abstract image by itself, due to the halos, as you said.
I was just saying, if you want to see more internal / surface details for scientific purpose, BF / Pol in epi or transmitted light may serve you better.

As a curiosity image, hkv, it's terrific! An incoming meterorite on brink of exploding as a bolloide ( we are still enjoying the waning Orionid meteor shower, here after midnights)!
I,ve so enjoyed Artemia salina egg hatching as a child..they were sold to parents of children as: "Sea Monkeys" here in US . Charlie guevara

Thanks!
Yes, supposed to be very easy to take care of, even for kids.charlie g wrote:
