Stick Insect

#1 Post by exmarine » Mon Oct 30, 2017 10:13 am

I attended a microscopy meeting in the S.E. of England last Saturday and was asked if I wanted the insect? Thinking yes they are as big as our little finger so no problem. When I was given it the size took me by surprise its a wopper.
I have more photos but I keep getting 'the file is too big' enough is enough.
(Because of the file size the photo does not show the spike or pattern of the exoskeleton).

What a splendid beast !!

Regarding the problem with file size: May I suggest that you post a few 'crops' from the full-resolution image, rather than attempting to re-size it. We now know its general form, but [as ever] the real joy is in the details.

Wow - that looks a tad lethal!

File-size for the forum,
needs to be smaller than 512Kb and up-to 100 pix max in either direction,

I use AVS image-converter with a user-defined (by me) setting to re-size the .jpg, quality setting need be no more that 60%, size I use is usually 800 wide by 1000 high as that comes well within the limits (file size usually ends up between about 120 and 200kb)...

Here's a screen-snip of it's window,

It integrates with Windows file explorer and is available as a 'right-click' option with any number of selected files at once - really handy!

Hope this helps a little.

Great monster! :D :D
