Amanda,

I would be interested to hear of your experiences with modern Point Grey cameras on OS X.

I have an old Dragonfly_1 monochrome FireWire camera which works nicely on the Mac, but I have been wary about buying a newer model because the software & support seems to be so biased towards Windows.

This search of their site will show what I mean:

Grateful for any advice you can provide.

Hi Michael,

I am working with machine vision systems. This camera is great for me and you can read about its use on OS X here: https://www.ptgrey.com/tan/10868 and also here: https://www.ptgrey.com/KB/10167.
In general, cameras for machine vision are widely used in factories to detect any flaws in the products, it is also possible to identify foreign objects in liquid with the help of the camera. I use altami studio program with these cameras, they are fully compatible, but good quality images are made only at medium and low stream speed.

If you need more information, just let me know.

Best regards,
Amanda
