Epsom Salt Crystals

#1 Post by JimT » Sun Feb 18, 2018 11:38 pm

I haven't posted much lately but recently someone posted some polarized crystal images so I decided to do some more.

Here are two polarized images of Epsom salt crystals (Magnesium Sulfate). First one with the 10x obj. and the second one with the 20x.

Wow!! Amazing colours you got there Jim! Do you mix the salt with water and then let it dry on the slide?

The second image almost looks like a butterfly! I'm really loving the colours you capture!

That's the fun about polarized crystals. Lots of interesting shapes and beautiful colours.
