If you are interested I also have two short videos (~ 1min] to share

Video taken with a Plan 6,3 DIC, gives a kind of overview:

Video taken with 25x Objective - much more details:

Hope you like it.

Great image and videos - particularly the 25x
What version of DIC did you use with it?
Zeiss Standard WL (somewhat fashion challenged) & Wild M8
Olympus E-P2 (Micro Four Thirds Camera)

Muchas gracias 75RR.
Videos were taken with the "newer" Zeiss finite DIC.

Plan Neofluar 25x/0.8 W Oel Glyc .......? So it is as good as I imagined.
Putting it on my wish list ... now all I need is a fairy godmother who is willing to lend a hand :)

Actually video was taken with my favorite objective, the Zeiss Planapo 25/0,65. This objective provides a quite nice image. It is also because of convenience, it is a dry obejctive but also provides an adequate working distance (even the Zeiss catalogue states it is only 0,12 mm...my impression is, it offers more).

No question the Multi Immersion 25/0,80 is great, but it has his price (guess you will pay 3 times compared to the Planapo). Working distance it quite limited (only 0,09 mm), and finally the immersion always is less convenient than the dry objective.

So the Planapo 25/0,65 usually keeps me happy :-)

Good point on the working distance. So what slider did you use?

I think we may be talking at cross purposes here.

There are 4 Zeiss DIC systems for the 160 tube microscopes.

See link: viewtopic.php?f=15&t=1543

I was under the impression that you had used the 4th and latest of the DIC 160 systems in the video.

It seems not :)
I just assumed it was a DIC video - hence my questions.

Yes it is exacetly this latest DIC system that I have used in the video. The DIC manual documents the Zeiss tested and recommended Objective / Wollaston / DIC slider combinations. However sometimes different combinations will also work for objectives, where Zeiss did not have made specific DIC slides.

For the PlanApo 25 I found that the DIC slider for the Plan 6,3 Obektive works very well (the video was made with this DIC slider). The DIC slider for Plan Neofluar 25/0,8 works even a bit better - it produceses less gradient.

Beside the various DIC sliders, there are 4 different Wollaston prisms and 3 different front lenses (0,63; 0,9; 1,4 nA) that can combine. So lots combinations to test! I think I have tried more than 200 out of them.
