Thanks for this interesting encounter, microbial. For me it started out ( same size differential) like my dog and runt cat touching noses! I sensed the engulphed organism only gave one meek pulse or body contraction...then it simply peacefully permitted itself to be ingested with no struggle! No Schopenhauer 'will to live' in that small ciliate.
