At 1000um it would seem possible that you could "curl" it up yourself, like with a fine needle say. Have you ever manipulated a subject thus 75?

Thanks coominya.

Not sure how long Pleurosigma get, mine ( viewtopic.php?f=6&t=6112 ) is just over 200µm so perhaps it is possible.
No, I have never tried diatom manipulation but here is a link if you are thinking on it: https://www.diatomsireland.com/micromanipulator-intro/
My first thought is that even though 1000µm may seem a lot it is only 1mm - then I got to wondering exactly how small were the diatom needles made by heating 1.5mm capillary tubes (pulled glass). At 1000um it would seem possible that you could "curl" it up yourself, like with a fine needle say. Have you ever manipulated a subject thus 75?
