Copepod

#1 Post by Grahame » Mon Jul 09, 2018 8:40 am

Living in a freshwater aquarium, I'm cultivating from silt / water from a local wetland.
10x Chinese objective.
30 odd images, stacked.

Beautiful image!
Which illumination type do you use with the M20 (halogen, LED etc)?

Very good!!... Chinese objectives work well.. If the truth was known almost all objectives are made in China now.. It matters not what brand...

Thanks folks,
Hobbyst46, I'm using a 10W led, nothing fancy, just an led and driver screwed to a heat sink with a half ping pong ball for a diffuser.
It origionally came with an underpowered red chinese bulb, I then put in a 20W halogen, that was good but it evaporated the small drops of water the critters were in, not ideal :)
That was taken with a new darkfield filter invention, I put in a series of holes round the outer part of possibly a quarter of it, rotating it gave some interesting lighting effects.
BillT, unfortunately these are acros, the images take quite a bit of playing around with in Photoshop to remove the colour fringeing, all good fun.

Very nice image with photo shop, good reason led`s don`t evaporate the water as much, time is very important, wasted time is just wasted.
